Just started Dirty John season 2 : Betty Broderick. Only on episode 1 but it's piqued my interest.

I'm watching the reboot of Red Dwarf on Britbox. I was pleasantly surprised to see it still is up there with the old episodes.

According to Jim 8/10. The first 3 seasons are hilarious, the last season is boring

I really wanted to like that show. I like Bushemi (I know I murdered that) and among my favorite shows are the Sopranos and the like. In several different viewing attempts I have failed to get myself into a mind space that I can enjoy it. Certainly me, not the show as it seems well done, just can't get interested or care about the characters.

The Boys.

I avoided this one for a while as it's preview just didn't catch me. The other night we saw an extended teaser and started watching. It's really quite good, neat spin on the superhero flick...and Elizabeth Shue....oh MY!

Wallander: The Original Episodes, Season 1 (2004). Streaming for free on Hoopla.

In Swedish with English subtitles. Before anyone else played the part, Rolf Lassgård established the role of Kurt Wallander in the original Swedish film adaptations of Henning Mankell's bestselling crime novels.
The first season consisted of 4 episodes (9/10)
1. The Man Who Smiled

2. Firewall, Part 1

3. Firewall, Part 2

4. The Pyramid

Note: Rolf Lassgård is the actor who also played the lead role in the great Swedish movie from 2015, A Man Called Ove.

Recently started The Boys and already onto season 2.
It's actually a great spin to your usual superhero films. These guys who are superheros are about as corrupt as you can be, all whilst portraying to be the worlds heroes.

We had been stretching episodes out just to have something to look forward to.

SPOILER ALERT

IMO Shue leaving the show was a great loss to the character line. The new female Supe they installed was portrayed as being so smart and in touch, while at the same time it made some of the others seem so much dumber than their typical portrayal. I do appreciate how they ended the show with a way both to continue but also for it to be ended if such were the case. I have often found that once a series has accomplished the goal it was created for, then tries to voyage out on the discovery of another goal due to popularity often miss that mark and are worse for it. I hope this production can miss that pitfall.

The Queen's Gambit-

This is a 2020 "limited" series about an orphaned girl who becomes a chess prodigy. It is loosely based in real life about several different people as inspiration. Great storyline, good shooting, and a talented young actress playing the lead role (Anya Taylor). I found the first episode grabbed me within seconds. Ended up binge watching most of it in a day.

The Great Chefs series on Amazon Prime - finishing up the Great Chefs - Great Cities series and am on the last season (6). It's great for a quick 22 minute program or two, or three.Even in 2000, they still advocate the standard American diet (sad) of low fat and high carbs, with one (of many) exception with the French dishes, with loads of good fat (butter, olive oil). Each episode starts with a Chef and an appetizer, then another Chef and his or her entree, then another with desert. If you search Great Chefs in Amazon Prime you'll find many more in the series with the same format. I cook my own meals now and then, and have gotten some tips that worked out nicely.

9/10

I have heard so much good about this series. I have tried to watch it several different times as much as a year apart. For some reason I cannot seem to get into it. Watched ~4 episodes and it seems to have everything I would want in a show like this except my interest.

Been watching Dexter. I had a friend years ago tell me how good it was and I just couldn't seem to get it. With the lack of shows out I tried it again and it has me interested. I am not going to go so far as to say it's great and the acting and characterization leaves a LOT to be desired out of several of the actors. Just the same, the premise of it feels novel and it's engaging enough to continue watching. As of right now I will go 6/10.

Mr. Inglesias, I will give it a 9/10. I love Gabriel Iglesias as a comedian and his love for tacos is always good. It has plenty of laughs and the typical sitcom life lessons. Would recommend.

Watched the first to episodes of The Stand on CBS All Access last night. Seems okay so far. They've gone with a lot of time jumps which makes it confusing if you're not familiar with the book. I am but my GF is not.
