Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

My 1976 Raleigh Competition, beside an unknown Tulare County "crick", alpine mountain-fed, evidently.

Despite being a very dry area, you will find plenty of life where there is water and shade.

This Just In!

I've finished building my 1981 Trek 412, and with the 700c x 35mm tires I was able to fit on there, it's like riding on a cloud.

It just floats over the cobblestones down by the river.

Here's a shot of my similarly-built Bianchi Sport SX by the same river:

My next build will be either a 1984 Dawes Ranger (531 frame) MTB, or a 1986 Raleigh Portage.
