Does one have to buy them new? That might make an excellent home business. Buy bikes at Walmart for $200. Strip and sell each piece for $200 each (new pulls).

Can I sell the valve caps for $5 each?

What's your plan for the AMP fork? That was a pretty high tech item and designer Horst Leitner was something of a suspension guru.

I'm aiming for the cheaper Mongoose variant like the one in the photo, but the plan is to modify it for 20" wheels (on a Raleigh Twenty).

I know that focal lengths can distort the appearance of a bike frame and such, but I swear, there are a few angles where I'm genuinely convinced that Motobecane frame has been twisted (headttube not on the same sideways plane as the seattube) from a T-bone crash. The replacement fork just reinforces that perception.

Based on that shot of the headbadge, it actually looks straight. The rack in the background would be at an angle left or right if the headtube and seat tube were not in-line).

But, based on the number of bikes in the background, and the price being on a tag, seller should NOT be posting as "by owner". Seller should post as "by dealer" and pay for the ad, which is what keeps CL free for the rest of us.

If that is a replacement fork, it looks bent!!!

I'm not seeing what you're looking at with alignment, but for a bike that small, the HT is rarely steeper than the ST. There may be barely perceptible TT/DT bends from a head on collision.

That is a fairly late model Mirage, but I don't think I'd be interested in a $300+ Mirage.

Possibly. But again, focal length distortion. I'd love to see this thing in person just to chalk up how many things are wrong with it BESIDES the price, the claims, and the (what else?) opportunistic shark selling it.

I was considering that it's headttube and downtube are kinked, but couldn't be sure - but it only furthers my belief that the headtube is twisted in relation to the seattube.

Hmmm... I wonder what the seller means by "MINT" and "Campagnolo Super Record" in the Guerciotti title?

The only redeeming value in that bike may be that hollow brake caliper mounting nut, rusty, of course.

With $90 shipping, I wonder if the seller would entertain offers of $50? Hmmm... Auto declined.

Looks like a mod similar to Drillium.

It might be fun if there were two of them.

Redneck ad copy at its finest - "After posting this bike it was discovered that the front frame was bent from a front impact. I have drove this bike for more then 30 years and never noticed, Be advised if you are buying for the frame that the front frame is bent but does function great and is not noticeable while ridding."

The bike wouldn't even be worth the money if the frame was intact and the original Guerc fork came with it. The paint is rough, the post is slammed, the parts are in bad shape, the set-up is a complete joke, and the Campagnolo items are lower-end and not NR, SR or Record C.
