So I have this here Suntour LePreel rear derailleur. I always thought they were LePree? What's the difference?

I've never seen this variation. It appears as Le Pree in SunTour catalogues 62 and 63, having replaced BL. The ones I've owned were also labelled Le Pree.

Possibly for a non-US market where "pree" was offensive?

I know it was marketed as Le Pree in Japan, based on extant Japanese catalogues. So, that would be the first choice for the group name in other countries.

Found this post from a few years ago about a Canadian model Fuji.... fuji bike identification. - Bike Forums. LaPree is a French surname so maybe there were some legal issues with using the name in Quebec so they tacked the "L" on the end of it to get around them.

VeloBase says "LePreel" was seemingly only seen rarely in 1984
