Warm gloves
It was 40-45 today on a 2 hour ride, and by the ends my hands were damn near numb from the wind chill! I was wearing full finger MTB gloves from cannondale. These did not ever overheat my hands during my summer commute, wonder why
The rest of my body feels fine between the leg warmers and the wind jacket, but I can't ride with hands that cold, it is too uncomfortable. Does anybody have any suggestions for some gloves that resist the cold, especially caused by wind?

I also layer gloves. I use performance knitted gloves, then a Nike glove over them.

The problem with full-finger cycling gloves is the typical breathability/mesh design on the back of the hand, which is fine in warm wetaher, but not so good when the temperature drops. Layer a decent pair of ski gloves or mittens over glove liners, those inexpensive, thin things. As not much dexterity is required, either to shift gears or to brake, you might prefer mittens over gloves up there in NH.

You have to be careful, though... Above about 45F your hands will get pretty warm and a little sweaty, so save these for the coldest days...

Descente Wombats...the finger cover can be put into the back of the glove if not needed, and if your fingers gets cold, just cover them up...best cold glove I've ever worn, hands down. Allows you to still easily shift and brake.

I use Gore Stream gloves they work awesome. If it's bleow 30 I will put on latex gloves underneath until it warms up a bit. Your hand will sweat in the latex but the Gore gloves won't get wet. When the temp warms above 30 I take off the latex and just use the gore streams.

I bought a pair of Pearl Izumi lobster gloves last year and I've never had a problem with my hands getting cold. You get the benefit of mittens, with more mobility.

Lobster gloves.
Bought a pair from Trek this season and they have been outstanding.
I've ridden in 32 degrees with wind and my hands were fine.

Air Impact Mechanic's Gloves in the cold weather version. I especially like the ones with the removable and machine washable nose wiping material on the back. There warm and absorb handlebar vibration and will last many years.

You Know!? For Kids!
I wear Loius Garneau Wind Tex Eco Gloves. I have been extremely happy with them. Rarely gets into the 20's here, but I wear them all the time when it is below 40. If it is really cold, just wear some polypro liners under them.
