Notices
Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

I want to do a bunch of gravel events next year. One of my friend did Unpaved last weekend. Maybe I'll join him next time.

I'm interested in the Race A Evo4 tubeless - they're the lightest on the market and occasionally priced pretty well.

Maybe I will join as well. The full route seems like a 7+ hour endeavour though, not sure I have the patience for that.

Two guys in my club did it and it took them 8 hours. Ouch.

My general rule for gravel is to add 33% to the mileage and that's about what you'd be looking at in an equivalent road ride effort. Mile-for-mile, gravel is much more of a grind.

So we're just starting to think about our annual trip to VA to visit my in-laws. I'm thinking that we haven't had a DC outing for about 4 years, so it might be time to float that idea. I'm sure that the boy would love to check out the Air and Space on the Mall, among other things.

And no, none of this has to do with the fact that I saw that there's a Rapha store in Georgetown.

My endorsement is useless. I went into Ubikes and since I'm an FOU (Friend of Ubikes) and get a discount, I bought the Panaracers at their suggestion. I like them, have ridden them in snow and on mtb trails, but have nothing to compare them to.

I have relatives in Phoenix metro. Some of whom used to live in Flagstaff. I have fond memories of blasting along US 17 in a rented car.
