I had the throttle cable on my 1966 MGB break. Accelerator just suddenly dropped to the floor. I ended up getting home (a couple miles) by clamping the ends together with a tygon hose clamp I just happened to have in the car. Then I walked the 4.5 miles to the Auto Parts store, bought a cable, and walked 4.5 miles back. Replacing the cable was a cinch after that!

I was accepted there but went to Pitt instead. Things probably would have turned out fine no matter where i went. Employers pay for what you can bring to the table not what a piece of paper says.

Strava should add the Velo Vol challenge: Ride 15 miles (non-flat route) without shifting. Trophy TBD.

There was an X 1/9 I was tempted to buy, BITD. But $700 was a lot of money for a 20 year old in the early 80s, so I kept driving the Beetle.

Usually imagining that I can just put in the engine/drivetrain from a first or second gen MR2.
Not sure how feasible that actually is though.
