A simple vintage brake hood question
I've tried googling this and asking on a different post. I'm looking for brake hoods to fit my 2 bikes that have Dia Compe AC 250G levers
I've found Dia Compe Aero Brake hoods but they don't list if they will fit the model I have and I can't find any compatibility chart for
any other hoods. So will any Dia Compe Aero hood fit my levers?

Will they fit? Who knows? YMMV. When you get into restoration and maintenance of components that are off the beaten track, it's much more of a craps shoot.

It would be like looking for a headlight for a Chevy Malibu and all you can find are headlights that say Chevy.

Don’t understand. Both eBay listings clearly state that the hoods listed will fit a 250 lever. The seller is long established and well regarded & included a whole heck of a lot more info than most do.
Am I missing something?

Often times someone here has figured out a workaround or that something that doesn't say it will work, does and vice-versa.
Apologies if you already did elsewhere but as something like this escalates, we can't have too much info.

Then you are out of luck. I have an idea: Get the pink ones and use them as a model to make a mold and start a brake-lever-hood-making hobby. I'll buy a pair of black ones from you. Then make some hoods for the non aero 600 levers.

I tried finding the AGC250 hoods for my '86 Miyata 710 for a loooong time. Some SAY they fit the AGC250, but are waaaaaay too long/tall. I got a few sets of those. After throwing my money away trying to find unicorn horn polish, I found it easier to buy a whole set of 'like new-take-offs' levers w/hoods on the 'bay.

bike production of parts is way less volume and the cost to make and inventory parts that maybe a few thousand people a year are looking for is not worth it
and even more surprising to me with i got into this stuff was how fast replacements for new stuff like only one or two generation behind current are hard to find.
