Might have passed you (or more likely, been passed by you!).
Was out with a friend who is just starting back into cycling. Left India Point just after 10, didn't make it all the way to Bristol before turning around.

Chuggin' Along
I picked up the Freeman trail from 225, and rode it into Concord. It was my first time on the newly opened part and I enjoyed it especially since the trail was not crowded being that it is a weekday.
I continued my ride onto Boston Road and took a left at the rotary into Concord Center, then "shot the rapids" on Monument Street. The second set of rapids almost got me because a car came along as I was approaching. I think I'll be
avoiding that road until it gets fixed (if ever). BTW, Last year I was asked not to lean my bike against the WW1 monument at the common. I should have had the sense not to do it in the first place.Just saying...

Did manage to coax the rounded binder bolt out of the Ebisu, hurrah! And thank you Tyler Oulton, for the sage counsel on how to do that...
Took the Rawland Nordavinden for a quick 20-mile sprint out to Depot Park and back. Was really focused on making time, something I was short of, but threw the chain beyond Lexington Center thanks to a dodgy shift, and found myself face-to-face with a wonderful, forked tree, whose bark was a tissue of whorls. So I fixed the chain and took a couple of pictures.
Lot of folks on the Minuteman today. This photo, taken while waiting to cross Bedford Street, is an index of that. Not shown is the guy who ran the light, or any of the folks behind me.
The feral irises are abloom in Tophet Swamp. I stopped on the return to photograph the beavers' garden, gracing their lodge.
The Norda's lively frame invites acceleration, and I cut right along, keeping a pace to make time. If you do that on the Minuteman at rush hour, you tend to meet all the people who aren't paying attention. Brakes and bell, yeah. Especially when the completely oblivious person on a bicycle wandered across the path at the skating rink. Ding! Screech! She woke up.

Trying to get in the habit of getting up early for a ride before work. I've never been a morning person, but it's really the only time I have during the week. It's getting easier. 6.5 miles today on the scenic road nearby that's not really so scenic. Tomorrow is a home office day so no crazy commute to zap all my free time. Hope to start June out strong with a long ride.

After a day mostly taken up with getting to or returning from a funeral in Rhode Island, I took the Nordavinden up to Lexington Center and back on the Minuteman, mid-80s with occasional drizzle cooling hot riders. The informal bikes-for-sale business in East Lexington appears to be thriving.

BTW, the speed limit is 25 mph. Let’s just say the 85th percentile speed of the motor vehicles were way past that. Oh, I passed almost all of them all at the redlight at the base of the bridge. Hurry up and wait is just a thing around here.

This morning I got out for what was to be a 70 mile ride on my R3. I was happily cruising along loving cycling. I was rolling up Main st in Maynard when I heard and felt what was unmistakably something important breaking. The back end started shimmying back and forth as I came to a stop at the side of the road on a thankfully empty Main st sidewalk. A quick visual revealed a broken rear spoke. It was a good 35 mile ride until it wasn't. Mrs. Ghazmh came to my rescue again (first time for 2018). It looks to be repairable. It's my Boyd 44mm carbon wheel that isn't ready to become wall art quite yet. My Roubaix's in the shop, looks like I'll be picking one up and dropping one off.

Looks to me like they didn't paint the second line on the inbound. The placement of the delineators on both appear to be inside the right traffic lane about 9", which is the center of the double-line marking on the outbound. There's just no second line and cross hatching on the inbound (yet?).

It was another day in Eden.
When the rain let up, I took the Ebisu for a cool, gray ride on the Minuteman.
I had spent a couple of happy hours getting a seized seat pin out of the frame yesterday, and replacing it with a Campagnolo QR seatpost binder bolt. I fiddled with that a bit on the ride, and was pleased to observe the saddle stayed put once it was set.
Of course, it wasn't the ideal day to be out on a white bicycle without fenders. But it was one of those quick rides that simply feel good. As is sometimes said of beans, good for the heart.
