Terrible wear of belt drive system (Cube Bike)

Can anyone identify if this wear is due to wear and tear or a poorly fitted/aligned belt drive system?

The rear sprocket has sheered teeth on the inside with sharp edges instead of rounded profiles

The belt has some teeth sheered off on outer edge with many other teeth becoming separated from the belt

I have been riding the bike through all weathers for about 16 months. I only ride 2 miles to work and back 5 days a week. So thats about 600 miles of use. I have had the bike serviced once after 3 months because it was making lots of squeaking noises. I have fixed one puncture about 2 months ago and I made sure to align the wheel correctly and carefully.

Not impressed really. I thought belts drives were longer lasting than chain drives

Sorry I cannot post photos yet.

It doesn't sound like a cleanliness issue. It sounds like you have a major alignment problem or the rear sprocket was improperly machined.

My belt is over five years old and no sign of wear yet. Send a picture of it.

I dont need pictures to know you have an alignment problem. Anytime there is wear on an inside or outside, its alignment!

With over 40 years of experience withe cog belts, I can tell you that I have seen too many bikes with cog belts way to tight.

The problem is wear of the PLASTIC sprocket. Gates have incorrectly specified the wrong material for the sprocket. At least it should be steel or stainless steel.
i have exactly the same problem with my Cube Travel pro. A good reliable bike, however, the rear sprocket lasted under 1000 miles.
I have emailed cube. To find if this is a commen problem.
I would be interested to know what your results were with the bike retailer.
