Washington DC Vintage-Friendly LBS?
What are the best vintage-centric shops in the DC area?
My nephew just finished assembling the Falcon San Remo I shipped him...
Thanks.

Velo Classique in Purcellville VA is some distance west of DC but might be worth the drive.

I second Velo Classique recommendation. Great shop. And if your nephew just needs a final adjustment or two, I've got tools and would be happy to help. I'm in Bethesda,

I would highly recommend David at The Bike Shop, 730 Maine Ave SW Washington, DC 20024, phone 202-659-8686
He's built some 35 vintage machines for me over the years varying in age from 1939-1987. Including two Falcon San Remos, btw.

Many thanks, all. I'll point the young man right here.
So happy for him. What a great stretch of the country to have a sweet vintage ride.

My uncle, the bike's original owner, told me today that early '70s Falcon was bought at Proteus bike shop in College Park, MD. They're still in business, although they recently moved from their original location (storefront pic below) to a larger space in a shopping center.

...addicted...
Velocity bike coop in Del Ray, Alexandria.
Although... I just saw on Facebook that their founder and main vintage gearhead Christian Meyers is battling a second round of cancer, and I think they've closed shop for the time being. It might be they'll still do the appointment-only type thing.
