Equipment/Product Review (1975) The Seat

I have to admit, I hated the saddle on my first "10-speed", a 1974 Raleigh Grand Prix.
I tried "breaking it in" by applying MacGregor Baseball Glove oil and whacking it multiple times daily with my Adirondack "Big Stick".
All that did was change the shape a little (not particularly in a good way) and lighten the color a bit.
Of course, wearing cotton.gym shorts with a jockstrap while riding didn't help. The fact that the supporter was made by Bike didn't help either.
So I remember wanting to try The Seat, but never did. Did I miss out?

That's a blast from the past for me. I never tried one.

Very fragile, a teammate had one break miles out on a training ride, had to stand-up all the way back.
We laughed although he did not find it at all amusing. We called him "Oos"for years after......
