Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Same thoughts as you. 3500 for a 5 year old bike is a hard pass, personally. Especially with those super clunker wheels that weigh 3/4ths of a lb more than what you'd normally have on a bike like that.

I’ve always felt there prices were a little high. What is the blue book on the bike?

Can you live with the standard rank and 11-25 cassette? If not then add another $500 to replace them... if you can get the parts.

in general TPC prices tend to be higher then other sellers, but they are easier to work with then a private seller.
at 3.5k I would pass...you can put together a similar build for less with more custom specs.

The standard spider rings can be replaced with a compact spider and rings. You don't need to replace the whole crankset.

Piermont bike (they list on eBay) has a loaded Felt listed brand new in that price range. Dura Ace if I remember correctly.

I think the new 2020 frames of the SuperSix EVO Hi-mod might offer some better ride.

Save your money add a few more dollars and buy a new one. Not having disc brakes might limit the number of wheel set choices you have in the distant future. Though if you watch, you might find a bargain and snatch some up before the pickings get slim.

My new 2020 Tarmac with Ultegra Di2 wasn't much more than that during the spring sale and with rebate.
