Dalmac

This afternoon I'm packed and ready to go on DALMAC (Dick Allen Lansing to Mackinaw.) It'll be my 30th time riding it; so it's sort of a tradition. I'll register and drop off my baggage about 2 hours from now. It looks like I'll be doing some rain days this year, as the forecast has deteriorated as the ride date approached (Wednesday through Sunday.)

Crossing my fingers that the weatherperson is wrong!

Dry days, tailwinds, and always keep the rubber side down!

Not sure 30 times qualifies as "sort of" a tradition. Good luck with the weather. I feel your pain somewhat. It's rained here nearly every day for the last couple of months. It feels like I've spent more time riding in the rain than I've been dry this summer.

Good luck with your ride and hopefully you can enjoy it.

Best wishes for the Ride. Just this week I come upon this chat from 2017:

PS: Oh, now I get it..."not sure 30 times qualifies as 'sort of' a tradition" means a true tradition (irony ).

Have fun!
We'll be at Midwest Tandem Rally in Grand Rapids this weekend and the weather there looks completely iffy.

I didn't take a lot of pics, but what few I took are still in the phone. Overall, 346 miles in 5 days. I got lucky on rain, only got rained on for about 15 minutes on Saturday afternoon, while climbing the hill to the high school/camp. The deluge hit after I was under cover. Tailwind every day, moderate temps. It was very humid today and my grips were continuously wet. There was a photog taking our pics at the beach to the east of the bridge. I'll try to provide a link when it gets published.

I confess, I spent more effort riding than taking pics. Here is one, though. My friends, "Dynamic Duo" riding through M-119, the "Tunnel of Trees."

And another, two M5 Carbon highracers on the same route. (M5s are kinda rare.) I'm the fat one.
