Hello from Midwest USA

Hello!

I’m a 50+ masters XC racer here, mostly races I can drive to and back the same day.

I’ve been on a bike since forever, raced road a bit in my teens and early 20s, then I found XC riding and haven’t had a desire to race on tarmac since, although much of my riding and training is on the road.

I keep hearing about gravel riding, but haven’t dipped my toes in yet. Maybe someday!

Cheers!

Gravel racing sounds like a good fit for you then. I'm dipping my toes in it starting this year!
I won't be competitive, but I think it will be safer, not having to worry about being taken out by motorists.

Welcome, from SE Wisconsin!

Welcome to the forum.

I live in a small midwest town where gravel is only 3 to 5 blocks away in almost every direction. It can be fun and peaceful but you still have to watch out for farmers who are more interested in the fields rather than the road in front of them.
