The wife and I went to a home show this morning and got back a little late but we managed to get in a 15 mile ride at the MUP. Temps were a little chilly (for us in FL) at 67º and windy. Tomorrow suppose to get back up to the high 70's, low 80s by noon. It ought to be a nice club ride in the morning.

I put some road tires (26x1.5) on my mountain bike this morning and took it out for about a 20 mile ride. Real big difference from the mountain bike tires it came with! Temps were dropping here while I was out, and it was pretty windy. About 45 when I got home.

Planned on 23 miles today, about 14 or 15 miles into it, with the wind(20 mph and probably 30+ mph gusts) chewing me up(as well as it being low humidity and mid 40s), I decided to stop at the local LBS and do some test riding again. I rode 4 bikes probably at least 2 miles each(2 hybrid(fitness) and 2 road). I took a while before riding any and then after which, I realized how late it was and I still had to go another 7 or 8 miles home...I was feeling the fact I hadn't had any food for a while. I was completely wiped on the way home between needing to eat and the wind. So, I guess that I did a total of 31 or so miles today. Tomorrow is definitely a rest day after 6 days riding in a row.

Really windy today, so what started to be a 20 mile ride was turned into a 12 mile ride.
The wind really takes the fun out of it.

8 miles after work Friday evening just after sunset - didn't take long to get dark. First ride with new Cateye Rapid 3 tail light. Light and bright. Need to put on a mount for 2nd headlight for The Dark Months.
cool in the 40's.

Did another 30 miles today at the usual MUP while the wife was out spending money at an arts festival with my daughter. Weather is beautiful but the afternoon winds seem to be getting stronger every day. Legs are feeling it today but it didn't help that I stood for two hours this morning watching my grandsons play soccer.

~25 miles, 10-15 mph SSE wind.
Someone upthread wrote, "The wind really takes the fun out of it". Although 15 mph may be child's play for many on the forum, it still does cut into the fun a bit for me. I'm actually surprised that I went as far as I did. I passed one guy on his road bike, tucked down on his aero bars... I would have paid real money for them at that point.
My GPS battery died about 20 minutes before I finished and I was hoping I'd crack 25 miles, so I took a final jaunt down and back the Interstate service road before stopping. The turn back "home" happened just as the crosswind shifted to dead ahead. I ended up with 24.82 miles according to SportsTracker Pro on my phone.
Oh well.... that's better than the 5 miles last January!

40 mile club ride on the tandem. Cool at the start, maybe 47degF, warmed up to mid 50's. Not much climbing at all, but the two pitches were a reminder of our need to start climbing more. Our next organized ride is Borrego Springs on Dec 18th followed by Palm Springs in February, but fortunately not much climb on either of these rides. After that we swing into spring and the rides get harder, at least for us Seniors

20 miles on the Screamer with my stoker today. Very breezy! Headwinds mostly on the way out and then tailwinds much of the way back. That's the best way to do wind. Cruising in the mid-20's for long stretches coming in. Temp was somewhere between warm and cool. Very nice.

100 mph winds in the foothills. About 60 - 70 mph around here. Wind blown forest fires west of Boulder. Almost blew my car off the road. No ride, but we did go for a short hike at a local open space, which was a bit sheltered.

Strong southerly wind delivered 55f temps at dinnertime. I just had to take a quick 18 mile ride in the darkness. I got a chance to try my new CX tires and check the fit of new fenders and rack. With 4 lights up-front and two tail-lights, I'm ready for winter.

24 too easy miles with my BF. Taper week for the half marathon starts tomorrow, so the rides HAVE to be easy (my many coaches tell me!)...

About 10 miles on the Path and neighborhoods near home, what with 35mph winds, and a start on rebuilding a couple of Fujis I ran across

After yesterday's wind-tunnel ride, I decided to do a nice and easy ride today so the wife and I went to the MUP early this morning and we did 15 very easy miles before the winds started to pick up. Nice sunny, warm day with just enough of a breeze to make the ride very enjoyable. The stronger winds usually start around 2:00 pm. Now we are off to see the musical play, Peter Pan at the Performing Arts Center.

I finally found a group to ride with this morning! Rode 30 miles. I like riding with a group; it seems easier...

I rode 26 miles this morning, my longest ride since I got started in August. I thought I was doing pretty good going up a hill, only to get passed by 4 guys on road bikes like I was standing still. At least the last guy by said hi, and then he started to fall back from the other three. I've got a feeling they picked it up when they saw me. They must have felt great, passing an old guy on a mountain bike!

Yesterday was breezy but today was WINDY! 21 mostly-rural miles. I think I was a bit less affected by the wind than if I had been on an upright bike. Still, hard to keep a straight line at times. More of a head wind on the way out and tailwinds on the way in. Can't beat that! Was able to cruise along in the upper 20's at times.

11 miles Sunday afternoon. 33 miles for the weekend. This is my second season and I didn't even approach the distances I was hoping to achieve, but I'm still riding even though it is usually cold starting (40s now) and I'm still an old guy.

Saturday Winds were 24mph and the temp when I went out was 28F - did 48 miles. (+/- 2220' elevation change)
About the same conditions on Sunday when I did a 67 mile deal (+/- 3400' elevation change)
A good weekend spent in mostly the 39T ring trying to learn how to spin

Did 23 this morning early as I had to take the sister-in-law and her husband to the airport later. I wanted to make sure I got the ride in.
