Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

SoCal schools have been plagued with Sousaphone thefts because of the popularity of Mexican Polka.

Dem $3,000-$7000 horns really add up!

F1 isn't so stupid. It's brilliant. The money involved is rather stupid of course.

Could be a new hobby, since cycling isn't working out.

So I learned that these doomsdayers, who apparently call themselves "preppers," are considering building a store in Knoxville to sell their guns and other supplies. Oh boy.

Because VV has expelled me from cycling, I'm going to sell my bikes to a band of local preppers and move into the wilderness. There I will endeavor to master the art of forging Baroque-era brass instruments.

What difference does it make? Same concept: drivers sitting in machines going around and around, trying not to smash into one another. The only difference is that the machines are shaped a bit differently.

I see that race, which was suppose to be yesterday, is going--but in pause mode--because some idiot ran into a fuel truck or something.

Whenever they park the cars and the drivers get out and tweet or talk on their CB radios or whatever they do.

F1 cars are so far beyond all other types of race cars in performance it's a little stupid. I think they go from 0-100 and back to 0 in <6 seconds.

I need to ride my bike back out past the build site again. I rode out there last August and they were just getting started. Some contouring but mostly big piles of dirt. It's been controversial to say the least...on again, off again. Right now it's on. And hotel rooms are nearly sold out and fetching 3x the normal price.

I think I'd race rally if I raced cars.

My favorite to watch has to be WTCC. Well, that and Figure 8 races.
