Office depot ad....get rid of it or ....ELSE!

I am not the first to start a thread. But the GD Office Depot ad you have on your site opens itself if you pass over it, without clicking on it or anything. Then it opens, and delays everything until you close it, which isn't easy.

Please change that damned ad or get rid of it.

If it continues, I will likely no longer visit. I am not alone. Get rid of the g** damn Office Depot intrusive ad. I use the Office Depot, but this is definitely causing me to be prejudiced against the Depot for using these ads. Though not as much as the site that allows it.

Huh. I surf the forum every night and I've never seen that one... But I know exactly what you mean about that type of auto play ad that seizes control of the browser though. Daily Mail does it to me all the time with commercials to visit Mississippi of all places! (I'm pretty familiar with Mississippi as a LA native.) These auto play roll over type ads often crash my browser if I have a couple of other tabs open. So yeah, I prefer more basic type ads too.

I didn't see it.

I'd suggest running Firefox or Google Chrome and adding the Adblock Plus plugin that I use which filters out most of this stuff.

After one too many flashing ads, ads scrolling across my screen, etc. I couldn't take it and just got rid of nearly all of them.

Most of those ads are determined by what you were looking at before.

Were you at the OD website earlier or searching for office supplies?

The mods deny the existence of the Office Depot ad (they claim that it is "spyware" on your "computer") but it is here. It exists. And it is clearly an advertisement on this website and not due to "spamware" (which is not my "computer). I should have taken a screenshot but I didn't think of that at the time.

It is really annoying. Very invasive. Hard to close. Really upsets me.

I sent Office Depot an email telling them I will never shop there because of their stupid ad.

Also to help the mods figure this out:

It is an ad that is placed through a third party because it said Ad Premier or some **** on it.

I had no idea what you were talking about until a couple minutes ago.

A floating ad, I clicked to close it but it kept popping up and getting in the way.

It must go.

Or I will go....to the other side of the internet.

If you all don't mind please report this thread. The more reports we have on it the more likely something can be done higher up. As a courtesy to us though, please only report the original post so we don't have multiple threads reported.

You can also get rid of the ads by paying a few bucks for a membership to a site that provides some entertainment to pass the time at work and occasionally offers up useful information.

Good lord, stop using Internut Exploder and switch to Chrome or Safari - about 99% of your web browsing "issues" will disappear!
