Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Have you seen any of it at the shop? CC got H11 and are checking to see when Potenza will show up. Something must have happened because the release is pretty late. It's available now in the UK.

If it's a gravel or cross bike, please let me suggest Potenza disc if it's not too expensive.

Otherwise, Chorus from the UK or closeout Record if your wife allows it.

Pearl Jam's Let's Play Two came out. If you're a Cubs fan and like Pearl Jam, you will probably shed a tear. Eddie is an Evanston kid, went to ETHS.

Rides like a dream!

So weird, rigid up front and squish in the back. Did it originally come with a boing fork?

If I had any bike handling skills at all, and it tended to be a warm-weather sport, I'd be all over CX. Same duration as a sprint tri and I can take advantage of my running? All kinds of yes. But the flying starts and stops might kill me. Literally.

Well it's TX so how cold is it going to really be? And what do they do a certain number of laps or they just do a half hour straight and see how far everyone gets?

Flying starts and stops - well young ligaments as of right now.

You weren't here in the polar vortex seasons - it got legit cold rather often in 2012-2014 range during the winter. There was a time I was doing trainer work on the porch in October in the afternoon in San Antonio and it was like 40*. And when I got theoretically interested in CX I was in Boulder, which also got legit cold of course.

I think the usual durations are more like 40-60 minutes, but yes, it's number of laps completed in the allotted time.

Not yet.

Don't see a lot of Campy at our shop. The only current generation stuff I see belongs to me and one of the other mechanics.

Less, but the shorter duration and higher intensity are more appealing. And the lack of getting killed by guys on superbikes with perfect positions.

But hey, I don't even ride now, so it all doesn't matter.
