Will you need a shop to replace the deralleur? If so let them look at it.
If not have a go at assessing it yourself.
How deep is it?
Compare it to the other side if the stays are the same size and shape.
Does it look broken? Pull it, twist it. Be sensible.
Put the wheel in the bike and bounce it up and down hard. See what happens.
Sit on the bike and hop up and down see what happens. Ride it slow and do the same.
You can't power up a hill or come down it quick if you are worried about it.
If you're not sure bring it to someone who can help.

Bikes: Too many. Giant Trance X 29, Surly Midnight Special get the most time.

I'm not into making the call from some (admittedly good) photos on the internet, but it doesn't look great. I would probably recommend having the bike stripped down to the frameset and sent to a carbon repair company like Ruckus Composites, as the bike is worth the cost of repair.

thanks. I’ve sent the pics to my local carbon frame repair shop for an estimate. At least it’s not a crack on one of the Thinner hollow tubes. Hopefully it’s an easy fix. Also glad it won’t require a repaint.
