SteveKB, I have enough posts to post pictures of my Escape 3. What I didn't know was, you can only post 5 posts/day on the forums. So I had to wait 24hrs. Accessories added were: Cygolite 450 and Hotshot SL 50, Gub cellphone holder, Kbrotech handlebar extender, Aduro water bottle holder, and an Ibera rear rack.

Nice to see an Escape in brighter colours, most of the ones I see around here are dark shades of grey.
My old 2016 Escape 3 is bright orange/red and easy to see. I do worry that the darker colours are harder to see, especially this time of year.
What sort of riding do you use it for?

SteveKB, I like red. It does standout when you are on the road. Only other color available was black. I do local riding around the neighborhood. I talked my wife into riding with me. It has been a few years since she has been on a bicycle. We do a few miles around the area. When she feels comfortable, there is a nice bike trail not fair from our home that we will try one day. Also, there is a trail on a main road that is nice and flat. We can ride to a few stores that are a few miles from our home.

I like the handlebar extension. I only run a small LED strobe and a quadlock on my bars but find they take up a lot of real estate. I may look into one of these.

It looks like your Escape uses the Schrader valve, it's a very common valve, widely found. Here's a quick video on pumping the tyres.

I have a floor pump, bought at a sporting goods store, but also have a frame-mounted portable pump for emergency use.

Assuming you haven't changed out the wheels, you would have a Schrader valve. I have a mini pump that I carry on the bike and a floor pump with integrated pressure gauge at home - both do the job. If you find a pump without a built in gauge, go to any auto store (or bike shop) and pick up a small pressure gauge.

Agreed - the bright glossy colours are nice. My 2019 is a matte blue. The paint is not gloss smooth and tends to look blah in certain lights.

Finally got enough posts to be able to upload pictures. Here is my 2019 Escape 2 City

I've changed out the stem for a 100mm specialized comp multi stem currently set at 24deg rise - not sure if this will be the final setting.
Shimano PD-EH500 pedals
Ergon GP2 grips

I need to find a better seat.

Got it off Amazon for $26. It keeps things off the handle bar which I like. Good investment.

Nice Escape 2 City. I recently purchased Ergonomic GP1 grips for mine. Need to put them on. Been lazy.

Ever since I got knocked off the bike by a lifted Ford F-150 that did a "rolling stop" through a 4 way stop, I've preferred bikes with brighter colours. While the 2016 Giant Escape 2 City was a very nice bike, I thought its muted grey made it less visible than the flashier colours.

I saw a post in Craigslist seeking a trade of a 2019 Giant Escape 3 for a road bike. Due to lingering concussion issues from the truck encounter, I felt insecure on my Giant OCR 3, so I proposed a swap for the Escape. He lived about 5 km away, so we had a meet-up not too far away with a very low traffic rural road.

I sold the grey Escape City and kept the 2019 Escape 3. It's Flash Green, quite gaudy and hopefully more noticeable for inattentive drivers.

So guys, what would be a good lightweight rear rack for a 2021 Escape 2 Disc?

Tnx...Phil

I've been happy with the Blackburn series of racks, that's what I've got on my 2021 Escape 3 Comfort, very versatile with different styles and nice rack bags that "click in" and lock on some the racks, FYI!

Since they make so many models, any specific one(s) I should be looking at?

As of March 17th. I got a Escape 3 Comfort hybrid and it's a fun machine to ride, LOL, it's taking me a bit to get use to riding a "diamond framed" bicycle again, as the recumbent trike and the RANS Fusion "crank forward" I had before use a different set of "riding muscles" but I really enjoy how easy the 700 C wheels roll and the "non flop" of the front end going up hills that was a bit of a annoyance on the RANS!! Looking forward to lots of miles on urban and rail trails and maybe getting back out for a "overnight or weekend" tour again!!

Foothills trail that goes along the outside of the Garden of the Gods, Co. Springs, CO.

The one I have on my Escape 3 Comfort is a blackburn Grid 2, seems like a fairly HD version, good for touring, jmho. I'm sure as long as you make sure it's a disc brake rack IF you have disc brakes, otherwise the models seem pretty "universal" in fit, FYI.
