I hate pictures of me... and I especially hate "selfies" but my friend is really into them much to my chagrin... anyway here is one she took about 3 weeks ago or so when we rode one Thursday night on the Balboa Ferry over to the Wedge to see the giant waves (caused by a hurricane in Mexico... I am 63 and my friend 55...

I am the "fluffy" one in purple... my friend is also over 50 so belongs here as well...

BTW my type of "selfie" - after climbing Highway 2... that's how I felt!

Another of me finishing a long climb and catching the downhill... obviously I like that purple jersey!

I do have a road bike but no photos with me on or with it... my group activities are usually mountain biking and I have to depend on friends to take pictures as I won't tke them of myself!

Here's the road bike... parked along Back Bay - my usual Thursday night after work ride...

The only thing you don't get is a crack at a Deathride jersey.
The crowds definately detract from the Deathride. Especially the first descent off of Monitor.
I'd be tempted to travel down for Alta Alpina if I can talk some friends into going..

The photo, though was one taken on a dirtride near my home in Washington State. No one else around but me n my camera.

Yeah, I thought Ebbets was pretty bad too. There were a lot of people tacking the ascent while others were apexing turns on the descent on the same road at the same time. One of these days someone's going to get seriously hurt.

This is me a couple weeks ago, six months into my 50th year, showing off my new kit and my new "guns". I've come a long way from being an out-of-shape couch potato.

After seeing that trike ridden by one of the regulars at the MUP, my wife was all set to buy one to replace her existing trike. We went and looked at them and she fell in love with it. Only problem was that no matter what we did, it was too long to fit in the back of the Transit. She ended up getting an ICE Sprint 26" with all the upgrades and is extremely happy that she did. It's got her riding more; much more that with her old Performer FX.

Why? Are you hard of herring?

What did one herring say to the other? "Am I my brother's kipper?"

OK. I'll stop and go wash my bike or something. (note subtle fish / water reference)

No, the ICE Vortex/VTX does not fold at all, though pre-2012 models did.
