Giant TCR Adv Pro 1 vs Trek Emonda SL6 Pro

So, not sure what to go with. 2019 Giant TCR Advanced Pro 1 or the 2019 Trek Emonda SL6 Pro?

The Trek emonda is around 7.3 kgs I think but does anyone know the TCRs weight (In L if anyone knows)? I think the TCRs carbon wheels are bit lighter and deeper at 42mm compared to 35mm on the Emonda. If anyone has ridden either or both these bikes, your thoughts on them would be much appreciated. Handling, comfort, power transfer etc.?

At the moment I'm more towards the Trek, but not sure if its the best option out of the two. I can them both for around the same price so the price isn't really a factor (Giants slightly cheaper).

Anyway, any thoughts or opinions would be appreciated

Thanks.

Personally, I don't like Trek. I also own a Giant TCR which I really like.

The TCR is 7.1kg in size small according to Giant’s Japanese website. You can’t go wrong with either bike but you will get way more for your money with the Giant.

Ok thanks, they are both pretty similar in weight then. And yeah it seems giants value for money is pretty hard to beat. But my mistake, they aren't the same price, a TCR in my size (L) is more expensive for some reason, meaning it will cost $269 (US $175) more than the Emonda.. Is the giant worth the extra money? and is there any reason not to buy Trek?
Thanks

The TCR is an awesome bike. The Giant uses a BB86 bottom bracket, which is a much more reliable design than the Trek's BB90. In my opinion, BB90 is crap and almost a deal killer for any current Trek frame for me. I've heard Trek is (apparently) moving to threaded T47 soon (https://cyclingtips.com/2019/05/trek...ttom-brackets/), which is a great decision. One other huge factor: in additional to a lifetime workmanship warranty, Giant recently instituted a two year free frame and carbon component replacement policy for anything that happens while riding. It's a no questions asked policy and even covers racing incidents.

Other than that, they have the same group, similar wheels and similar other components. The Giant lists retail for significantly less than the Trek, unless the Trek is on sale you shouldn't be paying more for the Giant.

I am also considering both of these bikes. My issue with the Emonda is mostly the color scheme. I cant get over it. At this point I think it is best to just wait for the 2020 model years for both bikes and see if there are any changes

FWIW, I bought a TCR Advanced Pro 0 Disc a few months ago. WOW! Fabulous bike. Comfortable, great fit & finish, and excellent handling.

I dont think you can go wrong with either honestly. I have a Emonda SL6 Pro that has been perfect for thousands of miles. I also just bought a Giant Revolt and it has been great as well.

If the OP is still deciding, I have both. Go with the one whose color scheme you like most. I can't tell the difference as they are setup similarly.

Just picked up a Giant TCR advanced pro o disc, love the bike. It’s comfortable, smooth and fast. I looked at the Emonda sl6 pro but chose the Giant, I’m glad that I did. I don’t have a lot of seat time on the Emonda, I’m sure it’s a good bike, the Giant just felt better.
