Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Canyon - unavailable till August?

Looking to order a S, for my wife, in the endurace model, and the website says it will ship in August? Am I missing something. Surely customers won't wait so long?

That's fairly common practice. Once a size is sold out of a model year, it's gone until the next model year is released.

Oh, didn't realise that was the reason.

Edit: Though if that were the case, how is it that they have only 3 left of the M in August?

Most manufacturers have all the frames that they project to sell, produced at on time. When those are gone, they are gone until the next model year. Models are usually released in August, and hit retail stores in September/October.

Canyon is fairly new to the game, and they are outselling their projections

That's frustrating and you might want to look into other options.

Good for Canyon though. Best problem they could have. Competition is good for everyone, and they're doing good on that front.

Sorry, but I still don't get it. If they are planning to ship the new ones in Aug, how can Aug have only 3 left?

Any suggestions for an endurance geometry with Di2 in about the same price range? I could not locate anything.

Though this model isn't offered in women-specific geometries, if that's what you need.

Canyon occasionally has B-stock returns or refurbs, so it might be prudent to keep checking the website.

To me it seems that no matter what time of the year I check availability of a particular Canyon model they almost always seem to have them on back-order. In the past I have played with the idea of getting a Canyon but as soon as I click on the availability page it seems that I'm out of luck. It's either a model or favorite color that is not available. For me, waiting several months for a particular model or color to become available is a buzz kill.

I am out as a Canyon customer as well. They don't make enough bikes to meet demand and several other companies do...In particular, I have been looking at the Grail AL and the Lux. Both of these are new models. The Grail AL has been unavailable pretty much since its release. The Lux is still listed as a new item but pretty much all are sold out...Too bad...I would own both if Canyon could get its stuff together...

I think what they are saying is, "we have 3 left in stock. When those are gone, we will be out of stock until August".

I assume you are looking to buy a small Wmn Endurance CF SL Disc 7.0, right? Did you try to place the order?

there's nothing stating that it's unavailable when I looked.

Guess

It's waiting for the production time slot in the OEM contract factory that makes them,

Right now they may be making bikes for another client company importer.. ..
