So Cal Bike Shops
Who is your "go-to" bike shop here in the LA/Orange/Riverside/Ventura County/San Diego area? I know most of us probably do our own work, but when you need or maybe just want someone else to do the work on your bike or pickup a quick spare part... Where do you go?
One of the reasons I ask is that a couple of places I previously used are now closed (King's for service and Performance for parts).
If possible, I'd prefer that this thread not turn into a shop bashing spree. We've all had bad experiences. If you've had a real bad experience somewhere I/we don't need to hear about it in detail. We don't need to read a 2000 word essay about your bad experience. If you have strong feelings that clash with a particular post, just say so. I believe the most powerful solution to bad service is to just stop using that place of business, not complaining about them on the internet.

2 Wheeler Dealer in Brea (Imperial Hwy. just west of St. College). Ordered my Bianchi frameset from them & recently had the alum. nipples on a Reynolds wheel swapped out for brass ones. Small shops like theirs can't be all things to everyone but Tim & his wife are good people.

In the inland empire- USA Cyclery was always my go to.... although of late, I use a mobile mechanic "The Local Bike Stand". Greg the owner is a great guy- good prices, really convenient that he comes to my work.

In Irvine, Trails End
It doesn't have to be the fancy high end place with lots of inventory. But both Randy and son, Dan are both notable riders and mechanics.

in san diego...https://www.aabikes.net/
in la, there was a guy with a cornucopia of a shop replete with bike parts, frames, wheelsets perched on the edge of the "sunset triangle" at the corner of edgecliff and griffith park drive
a block north of sunset in the silverlake area. open early (fixed a broken shifter cable in 15 minutes after i stopped by at 7:30am and repaired a riding companion's wheel a little after
8am about a year later) and was super-affordable. tipped him 3x his prices to fix both items both times. picked up a new tire from him at another point as well. rode past about two months ago and the building he was housed in is under construction
with no sight of his store. hoping he popped up somewhere else as he was a really nice and humble guy.

I really like Safety Cycle in Torrance. Especially for tuning and bike work.

So Cal Bike Shops
In Long Beach, CA I like Bicycle Stand - 2740 East Broadway 562-279-4936
thebicyclestand dot org
It's a locally owned shop with one location. They do a lot of vintage bike restorations, and also sell a variety of new modern bikes.
The repair area is usually busy, and the mechanics are quite competent.

@Andrew_G Thanks for the recommendation. I've seen their ad but never hit them up. These guys aren't as far towards downtown as I thought. Mostly I'm looking for someone in the vicinity of the 91/605 and 405/605 freeways and that they true wheels at a reasonable price.

There are 2 in Garden Grove that I use. Richard's Cyclery on Valley View at Chapman and Papa Wheelies on Chapman at Knott.
