My trekking sandals and bottom base layer didn't make it to town in time to get out on the truck for delivery. No one is going to be in the office on Monday. I hope the package gets left outside the suite or they come back on Tuesday. I need the stuff before I leave Wednesday morning.
I always liked the idea of hiking in sandals, but the straps chafe my feet and I have to take them off constantly to shake out the pebbles.

We are off for what promises to be a glorious weekend of fall sailing and a cool night on the hook. Might get a quick group ride in tomorrow morning.

Got a pair at the start of my Montana tour in June. Love them, but the little plastic strap guide broke not long after I got home. REI gave me my money back, but they apparently don't carry them in the east, and I never got around to ordering another pair. The flat sole means few if any pebble get underfoot. Willing to give them one more chance. They are super light, which makes them perfect for bike tours.

I don't know if anyone recalls, but I broke a Campy Record 11 speed chain a couple months ago, first chain that I've broken in probably 25-30 years. So, I take my Propel in this week because it was shifting wonky all of a sudden in every gear and I assumed it had Datlas' Shimano cable disease. The shop called today and said that the cables are fine but I had broken a side plate. Wut? Two broken chains on two different bikes this summer?!

The elegant, lightweight, aero and much maligned seatpost arrived today. As expected, it is awesome.
It will be forever known as the awesome, elegant, lightweight and aero seatpost.
To review:
