Well, when servicing the headset I found out there is a bit of brinelling or indexing on the bottom race so I am off to the LBS for some loose bearings to see if it will solve the problem...wish me luck.

I went to the LBS for the loose bearings and that solved the indexing problem with the headset. The Paint on the bike polished up very well.
The chrome on the chainring bolts seems problematic and I may have to resort to something other than a good polish to get an acceptable appearance etc. The plastic brake bolt covers have lost their "chrome" finish and painting them may be the answer.
I am now trying to decide on the type of bars and stem as well as the saddle and color of bar tape that I will use for the build.

Sweet bike. Recently picked up a similar setup. Any idea what model this is? The serial number on mine only says A (large space) 2 and J.1

There is nothing wrong with a non-celeste Bianchi. (Mine is a rare "charcoal," which my artist wife calls metallic "Ralph Lauren brown.")

Thanks, yours looks great....I am wrapping my bars today...finished lubing the BB and axles and did a little more cleaning.
I may switch out the black Selle for a red or white one but not sure yet....still trying to make a decision on skin walls, red or Celeste tires?
Best, Ben
Merry Christmas!

I like that analogy!
I know what you mean, it looked good in the studio but in the natural light a bit brown....I have another one that I think is redder and will try that later, If that does not work I have white and black that may work.
Tires are next....green or skin wall?

Getting rid of the green tire also helps my eye!
While I like the Benotto tape, I forgot that it has almost no cushioning.
Best, Ben

It's been quite a while since I have had time to do anything really bike-related, and along with the Bertoni, the Red-Headed Bianchi was in need of some well-needed attention.
I have had these two, almost completed bikes staring at me every day when I go to work in my studio.
Never in a hurry to finish, to me, it is more important to enjoy the build/hunt for the right parts etc.
I got the Celeste tires the other day and finally put them on, I bought the bike a little over a year ago and one member commented....."At least the rear tire is Celeste", like the Bertoni, the chain and pedals are the last things to fit and then it is done.....maybe white bar tape!
Best, Ben
I was happy to find the tires, even though it to a while to find them, I am glad I waited. The chain and pedals are next....

Thankfully they dumped the lowest line and stayed with Avanti for a bit (which was better) and improved Veloce moving forward, which I think, became the lowest end...?
Where did Mirage sit, however...?
