Yup and yup. I regularly ride a twisty bit of road in front of a school with a posted 15mph limit. Pisses me off when people squeeze by me at 30 (IME, the vast majority of drivers are incapable of maintaining a passing buffer through a curve).

IKR. Glad you called. I have done that on several occasions. One guy even told me to "Go **** your mother." Interestingly, whoever answered the phone sounded like he was not surprised at the driver's behavior. Made me wonder if it wasn't the first time someone reported him.

In the tech industry we have a term coined by Steve Jobs for people like this, Bozos. After Bozo the clown, who puts on a huge game and does all kinds of illusions. It's people who focus inordinately on things that don't matter, don't add value, make presentations and sales pitches about nothing. People who race a pickup truck to a red light to get there three seconds sooner. People who obsess over things that don't matter, who never learn from their experiences. (We all know Mr Pickup Driver will keep doing the same, incapable of learning.) You never, ever want to hire people like this, or surround yourself with them, and if you have a say - get rid of them.

We have our share here too, although they're a minority. But an extremely visible one. On Saturday I was cruising at just over 20 on a 25 road with a red light maybe 300 ft up. Mr Pickup truck just has to floor it to beat me to the light, swerves in front of me and brakes hard to stop. Across a bike lane no less (this is even a school zone), into the turn lane. There's no turn on red, and the idiot still sits there while I roll past up to the light, which changes and I roll past.
