Red, white, and blue bike helmet?
Any recommendations for a red, white, and blue road helmet with good ventilation? I use a red, white, and blue Giro Transfer road helmet, but it's way overdue to be replaced. I ride road mostly but I have been wanting to add a visor.
There's this Lazer helmet on Amazon which is exactly what I'm looking for, but 1) I've never heard of Lazer and 2) the shipping to me costs more than the helmet.

Risky, buying a helmet baed on colors and not trying it on. But honestly, that's the only red white and blue helmet I've ever seen.

These are probably my best bet and the Sharpie route is in my budget range. Maybe I'll just copy the Lazer design.

FWIW, I have 2 Lazer helmets and am satisfied with both for their construction and comfort. Haven’t had to put one to the test, fortunately.

Lazer is a long-established Belgian helmet maker. The 2019 Vuelta a Espana winner, Primoz Roglic, wore a Lazer helmet...so did the rest of Team Jumbo Visma.

Amazon is chock full of knock offs for every product in their inventory. And I've seen some of the bike helmets that are available for sale on Amazon from China. They literally crumble in your hands. No joke.
For something that is protecting your melon, I highly recommend finding one in a store that was shipped direct from the manufacturer.

Such products are formally labeled "Made in USA" only because they [barely] pass the minimum set of requirements that permit the vendor to legally affix a "Made in USA" sticker to the product. However bizarre it might seem, in many cases using US workforce to slap that sticker onto a Chinese product is exactly what makes it legal to market it as "Made in USA", e.g. the cost of labeling is comparable to the cost of manufacturing )))
Nothing is made in USA. Every time you see something labeled "Made in USA", you are looking at a foreign product that received that marking by squeezing through a bunch of legal loopholes.

And there are Chinese suppliers who make styrofoam junk in the general shape of a bike helmet, that could be more dangerous that no helmet at all.
Amazon has some of the worst quality controls of products by 3rd party sellers ( and even of the inventory of legitimate sellers) imaginable.

There are a lot of things that are still made in the USA. Not everything is imported.
Hershey still makes chocolate bars right in Pennsylvania. I have seen the factory myself.
Many cars are still assembled here.
I live 2 miles from a major manufacturer of a product that is sold globally. All made right here in my back yard.

My stoker/spouse and I have matching green Lazer helmets - matching because we ride a tandem. They both have stickers mentioning Belgium and other stickers mentioning Macau. Neither say 'made in......' I'm leaning towards made in Macau.

My ti frame was designed and built in Philadelphia, 12 miles from my house. The ceramic glaze was applied in state. The hubs, headset, stem and seatpost were made in the U.S.

My newest bike has a frame from Wisconsin and many components from the US...though I would never make a purchase decision solely (or even primarily) on such factors. International trade is a good thing, no matter what certain idiots sometimes claim.
