Info Needed on Raleigh Technium Heat

Greetings: I am a new member from Minnesota and I just purchased a Raleigh Technium Heat. One label says 6067 - 78 Thermal Bonded Aluminum Chasis and another says "The Heat." The Serial # is R811090XXX Can anyone give me more information about this bike and help me identify what year it was manufactured? I believe it was either '89, '90 or '91. How do I determine which? I am also trying to obtain an owners manual and get better acquainted with my new (used) bike that has been restored and is in excellent condition. Thanks in advance for any help you can provide and have a Blessed day. YMgeni

Bikes: A green one, "Ragleigh," or something.

Not an expert on the Techniums, but having owned two of them, I'm closer than most

Be sure to check out the https://www.bikeforums.net/classic-v...m-technia.html thread. there are many examples of 80s - 90s Techniums there; as well as some serial number info. And post a few more times in the next couple days until you are up to ten posts, then show us some pix. Over on that thread there is another Technium Heat ATB/MTB. Looks like they were 1989 or early 90s models.

Aluminum 6061 tubing is fairly well known for its use in bicycles, are you sure yours says 6067?

Your frame was manufactured on day 110 of 1989 in Kent, Washington. I don't have the 1989 literature but in 1990 it was 5th in a line of 6 Technium ATB models and had an MSRP of $525. I imagine the 1989 version was just under $500 US.

You are absolutely, correct. It does say 6061-78. The 1 looked a lot like a seven. I should be at 10 posts soon and will try again to post pictures.
I tried yesterday and was informed that I needed 10 posts before being allowed to post pictures. Thanks for the correction.

Here is the link to the OP's photo album: https://www.bikeforums.net/g/picture/15391845

The rear derailleurs, shift/brake levers and presumably the freewheel have been replaced with what appears to be Shimano Tourney, as the rest of the bicycle is period correct SunTour XCE and XCM. This is not surprising, given the relatively poor performance of SunTour's Accushift indexed shifting system of the era.
