Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Kudos. One really has to budget the five hours of daylight.

So a couple of days ago, my wife went into this long speech about how this year she wasn’t going to be able to get me anything for Christmas. Buying the house, and she just went back to work so money was to tight. I said okay, which left her agitated. Yadidada dada she comes out and tells me she bought me superteam carbon wheels.

Side note I already saw the charge so kind of figured it out.

Today she went to Rei and bought me more goodies. Not sure what I have done to deserve this, but super stoked, excited and thankful.

My front light stopped holding its charge in constant beam mode. It would only last about 20 mins, so I would use it in flash mode. It last about 3 hours but It made obstacles harder to see so I wouldn’t go out until the sun started to rise. She gave this to me tonight, so now my only excuse for waiting is the temperature.

I live in a fully metric country. Except for fasteners. If I need a metric bolt or nut, I have to go to a specialty shop.

Speaking of GM, take a look at this beauty. That wood paneling is classic.

At a current bid of $480,000, it's well above my price range.

Most of the Christmas stuff is staged, just need to position the packages, and run the power. Should be done tomorrow for a Friday switch throwing.

I worked at a Buick dealer from 1989 to 1994. Those wagons had an Oldsmobile 307 engine and were woefully underpowered. GM was experimenting to try and solve the problem and they put the turbocharged engine from the Grand National into one of those wagons. I got to work on it when the alternator stopped working while they were joy riding in it.

The neighbors were doing their installation this afternoon. You know what makes 92° even better? Climbing around on a roof to install a big ass Santa Clause.

It would be hard for me to get in the mood when it's nearing 100F out there. Christmas in Oz must be strange.
