It's not as hard as I thought it would be. I was in Phx a few years ago for Thanksgiving, and riding through the neighborhoods where most folks had their lights up got me surprisingly festive. It was in the 80s, but yeah, 100 might be a bit much.

Closest thing I ever owned was an '83 Malibu Classic Wagon. Loved the quad headlamps and the taillights in the chrome bumper.

The idea of a winter celebration held during the height of summer is slightly off. But the 25th of Dec was the date chosen when they replaced the old pagan festivals in Europe. And then they discovered land below the equator. On the plus side, having a BBQ (grill for Texans) with your family or a trip to the beach on Christmas Day is nice. As is going for a picnic on Boxing Day to use up the leftover food from the day before.

I worked at a Buick dealer from 1989 to 1994. Those wagons had an Oldsmobile 307 engine and were woefully underpowered. GM was experimenting to try and solve the problem and they put the turbocharged engine from the Grand National into one of those wagons. I got to work on it when the alternator stopped working while they were joy riding in it.

I have found that all you have to do is stretch the crap out of the strap to get one more hole than you think you can and it holds pretty well. I like it because it's much less bulky than the screw clamp.

I have seen that "tip" on GCN and expect minimal benefits. If it's really well below freezing, you are best off with neoprene booties over your shoes.
