SON Hub Dynamo Thru Axle
I was hoping to hear from people and their experience with the SON Dynamo hub with thru axles.
My current bike has a QR SON Dynamo, and I need to have the QR skewer done up very tightly to stop the axle with the electrical connections on it from spinning.
I am looking at a new bike with through axles, and was wondering if anyone has experienced the SON hub slipping, when using the thru axle models.

On your current bike with conventional quick release, on some of my bikes I use a bolt on skewer instead of quick release on dynohub wheels.
The reason I use the bolt on is that if a potential thief sees my bike locked up at a rack somwhere, I am assuming that the opportunistic thief won't have a 5mm allen wrench in their pocket. I do not use one of the special key type skewers (Pitlock, etc.), as I would be afraid I would lose the special key. I keep a 5mm allen wrench packed with my spare tube.
I have never had any trouble with an axle attempting to spin with either type of skewer. Therefore I do not know if the bolt on skewer would provide better grip than a quick release. But that might be an option for you to try.
The skewer is standard M5 thread, so don't crank it down too much or it could fail.

i have a couple of SP dynohubs with TA, and never had a problem with spinning

I've got one SON hub with QR, and another Shimano dyno hub with QR. I haven't had a problem with either connection "spinning" as long as the QR is tightened correctly.
And you do want the QR tightened correctly; bad things may happen otherwise!

Similar here - I've had a QR Son28 and now two TA Son28s and none have ever spun. If you had spinning with the QR, I suspect something is wrong with the QR lever, fork tab spacing, or hub width and would be very reluctant to ride that bike until solved. Is it an unusual or aftermarket QR skewer? Ive seen some weight weenie gram-saving skewers that did not really generate a safe amount of clamping force...

usually when the QR is tight but the wheel shows some evidence of not being tight, the axle is too long. Which would be weird with a SON, but I guess I can see it if the fork has thin dropouts

Or perhaps the wheel/axle isn't seated properly in the fork. Lawyer lips may be to blame.
