BB Size on Stratos?

I'm currently putting together an '89 Rocky Mountain Stratos, and am trying to figure out the axle length on the BB. Anyone have any ideas?

Determined by the crank you use.

OK, shell is 2 5\8" in width, and I was hoping to use M730 square taper cranks.

Things are measured in METRIC, so you have a nominal 68mm wide BB.
This shows a 122.5mm BB.

It's useful if it has your crank.
I've always struck out.

Struck out means three strikes, and that's about my average too.

Can you guys help me out with the seatpost diameter? My calipers are showing 25mm, but that sounds weird.

What are you measuring? If the seat tube, then measuring the opening is almost as futile as guessing. The clamp and and other stuff through the years have deformed it from anything that will give you a true measure of what the tube is.

You need some calipers that get down below the slit in the tube if it has one or at least an inch down.

Usually if you do a google search for the make and model of the frame you can find some specs that might tell you. I even sometimes find it in the catalogs for that year bike in the specs section. But admittedly that is rare.

If you have a crop of spares of different sizes, then what fits best?
