Maybe not. But it still hurts as bad to step on in the middle of the night.

Lego Camo FTW! I bet the big red S could sell a ton of SS Allez frames. Heck if they built it with provisions for brakes and some internal routing I might highly consider one for building into a sweet fixed gear TT machine with aero extensions and everything, I still might do that to my old langster just for gits and shiggles.

It actually looks pretty decent when they don't matchy-matchy every single part.

If they're tubular tires, they're probably skinwalls, not gumwalls. Just sayin'

Deep carbon wheels are the perfect candidate for gumwalls. Breaks up all the black and outlines the rim. It's about contrast.

I'd ride that Allez. It made me go back and watch last year's Redhook Crit.

I completely get that. 100%. And I'm all for it too. I just think gum is a poor choice of accent color/material for a modern snazzy bike like that. I think of gumwalls as old school traditional, C&V, like wing tips.

That bike is screaming for modern flashy tires.

Even though I had to work last night, it was brutal to not have any kind of a livestream of the Brooklyn Redhook Crit. Roughly a thousand Instagram stories, but no stream. Hopefully they post the final races.

As much as I love watching the big stage races, the Redhook Crits are definitely my favourite races to watch.

I'm avoiding the social media of it so I wouldn't know who won. Figured they would have had a livestream going last night.

Hope the announcers are better too. One of them from last year was driving me nuts.

I don't know about those tires, but I do agree heavily with you on the gumwall look on modern bikes with deep wheels. Same thing with most Brooks saddles.
