So I did the zwifting last night. I hadn't done the NYC park perimeter loop in a while and forgot how good of a short course it is. Just enough grade to get your legs working without being a full on climb. However, it did get me looking at some of the segments on Strava and that whole thing is messed up. Some dude has the KOM on the sprint section at an average speed of 140 mph. And I thought real world segments and virtual segments were separate, but that same sprint section has some people in the top ten doing 40 mph that said they were on a sightseeing tour? Are there E-bike tours through central park where people are allowed to rock it at 40 mph?

I think strava was messed up yesterday. A friend of mine did a 40 miler and when he posted it, it showed that he did 109 miles in the same amount of time. Average speed of 43.5 mph. He notified strava and it was corrected.

Yeah, I didn't catch the date on the ride, but I did notice while the average speed was 140, his "max" was supposedly 30 something? Definitely a computer glitch. It happens.

I'm still curious about all these Japanese riders I see rocking it at 6-7 W/kg for the whole ride.

Interesting place, for sure and disappearing fast. There is a family from there with a unique genetic abnormality and "Tangier disease." I have met some of them through work.

We didn't feel like negotiating the channel between there and the Island to the north (whose name I forget) so we took the ferry from Reedville.

I was poking around YouTube, catching up on my various channels that I haven't had a chance to watch in the last couple months, and saw the GCN vid on how long a novice, an enthusiast and a pro could each hold 440w (Wiggin's average power during his hour record). The novice, although a big guy, couldn't manage one minute. Ollie, as the enthusiast, managed a little under 4 minutes - not bad. Watching their pro in disguise was humbling - 46 friggin' minutes. Yow.

I’m 6-7 miles from home as the crow flies and supposedly, it’s lightly snowing a few miles past there already. Debating about continuing on or chickening out and heading back. Hmmm...

It been about 10 years since I landed there, but when I fly over the island now usually on way to salisbury, you can see how much the water has risen. Another 30 years it won’t be here.
