Atlanta Bike To Work Music Video
I am finally getting around to posting the video I shot during our Bike to Work Day (May 20). The Atlanta Bicycle Campaign sponsored 'bike trains' to various destinations in the city. This is the train from the courthouse square in Decatur to Downtown Atlanta. Enjoy...

BTW, does anyone know of a free wmv to avi converter?

Nice. I'm very curious how you shot this video. (You did say it was you, right?) Judging from the camera position, it seems like the camera was attached to your head, but based on the shadow, it doesn't look like you went the Lucas Brunelle route. The video looked pretty good, so do you have any hints how you did it?

I used a helmet cam. I connected it to my Sony camcorder in a backpack. The back of the camera has a screw hole for mounting; I rigged up a small wooden block to fit in one of my air vents in my helmet, the camera screwed to a small bit of angle aluminum, and connected the angle aluminum to the wooden block with a small bolt and wingnut (I'll try to post a picture later if you are interested). I ran the video cable into a backpack which contains the camcorder, a very small sla battery to power the helmet cam, and a microphone. My camcorder is a few years old and is too big to mount to a helmet.
The camera I have is the 380 line X-treme camera only kit.

I thought the music was good. Lyrically quite appropriate too.

Ignore the bike path section. The idiot leader screwed up and took it for a few blocks instead of the road. He finally got smart and got the group back on the road.

Since Jeff posted the excellent video, I'll post some pictures I took of our group. The last 3 pictures are of the group once we arrived downtown. Everyone is waiting for the food the TMA folks provided and filling out registration forms for the Bike to Work Day prize drawing.

Great video. I've been asking around the forum trying to find out where people are getting their camera mounts. I have a self contained mini-camcorder from an outfit called Eyewitness Camera, (www.eyewitnesscamera.com), but the only thing I need is a mount. Can you help?
Thanks..,
Cliff.

Greetings from Chicago.
I do quite a bit of road and trail riding in and around Chicago, its suburbs, and forest preserves. There is quite an extensive network of safe trails and bike lanes.
Until I saw your video, I didn't know anyone rode bikes in Atlanta.
My wife keeps talking about moving to Atlanta. I've seen a couple of trails (e.g. Silver Comet, something that looks like it heads out east to Stone Mountain??) but in reality, Atlanta seems to be a very bicycle unfriendly city.
Could this bicycle commuter from Chicago ever find happiness in car crazy Atlanta?

I live in Atlanta, and I swear that was like one of the 10 days out of the year I didn't commute to work via my bicycle. I was going out of town that afternoon on a flight and took MARTA to the airport... My friend gave me a ride to work.
Good to see you promoting cycling in the ATL. Maybe I'll see you in Decatur. If you see a guy on a white and green Lemond cyclocross bike listening to an iPod, that's likely me.
