I like sewing by hand and by machine. The machine itself is a total pisser. I suck at it, but it's something a sailor is supposed to have in his skill set and I do my best. My wife actually knows what she's doing, can make clothes, and taught our daughter some.

me being in construction, a “deemed essential” work, I still go to work and interact with others in a remote way.
My wife is anxiously worried and have been threatening to have me use the garage door and lock me in the basement. I’m sad, very sad I tell ya!
Kidding aside, I’m getting worried too. Almost wish that DC government shutdowns all construction sites as well. It would be disastrous to my neighborhood with lots of families has only one breadwinner, who works in construction though.

I'm not drawn to much with skinny tubes, but once we're talkin' oversized and modern-ish geometry, I'm game.
There's a builder in my area that has specialized in steel for quite some time, but he wanted to start making some Ti frames. I don't think that he wanted to sell his practice frames, because he's picky about his work, but he also didn't want to "waste" too much Ti. Solution? He built a few balance bikes -

The main issue is just not riding enough at all to justify another roadie. I'd love a steel or Ti bike, but with the R2 there's just no need. Summer big mileage is on the P2, and charity rides are getting increasingly frustrating.

Phrased differently, there's a lack of opportunity to do the soul-crushing, but if I rode with semi-random groups regularly I'd enjoy it. Certainly it never got old beating people on a road bike in tris.

Someone I followed just tweeted that she wore two masks on a walk. Madness.

I understand both sides of the equation (at least I’d like to think that I do), but At times like these, I’m kinda glad I’m firmly stuck in middle management where I don’t have the burden of knowledge my decisions have the potential to affect hundreds of people’s lives. In my small circle, I’ve had my guys rotating between office and telework, I just hope it is enough.

First proper ride on my new MTB.
Steel is definitely real
What's also real is people that didn't drive together hanging out and chatting in the parking lot

Just saw on my local news that some day cares are still open. I am kind of shocked. And even worse the news was reporting it like it was a good thing.

My dad calls his clubmates "the old men". Except for one that is about 80, they are all 10 years younger than he is.

BTW she lives in a senior citizen apartment building in north Jersey, I believe 4 people in her building already sick and 2 of them died. Not fake news. She is ok but understandably scared.

I don't know if I ever took the controls. I was pretty young. We mostly used it to visit family. All I really know is that my dad has told me he would set the props to slightly different RPMs so that there would be a slight pulsing and it would put my brother and I right to sleep

Depends on what the budget becomes. I know some of these guys from the cyclocross circuit and their bikes are beautiful. Their Drifter would likely be the big budget choice. Our shop used to have a relationship with American Bicycle Group (because of QR), so I am looking at Litespeed. Plus, I lusted after Litespeed road frames BITD. And, of course, Lynskey is on the list.
