Very cool to know. What state are you located in? This is probably the fourth or fifth we've ever seen. Was your buddy the original owner? Whst is the serial number? Finally, Welcome to Ironman asylum.

same here. took the ironman for a 18mile ride, took 1.5 hours with almost 1,600 elevation climb. Gonna pass on repeating sit/stand intervals though.

still new to cycling but I gotta say the ironman really didn't need anymore gearing for that hill (as I was collecting parts for a 10 speed upgrade) and pessimistic party poopers had previous told me that hill was impossible without climbing gear...pssst to that! However, besides lighter wheel options, not really sure if I should bother with an upgrade or leave her as is?

I also think its a 60. IM are measured from the center of the Bottome Bracket to top of seat lug. I had an '87 Expert size 60 with a 57 top tube or maybe a tad more than 57. I now have an '86 size 58 with a TT 56.5. Nice bike. I have those same tires on my son's 89 expert. Our 89 Expert has a shorter ST and longer TT relative to the other IMs that I have taken care of. A great looking bike. Enjoy.

What length of stem is needed? I should have some 90 and under. That is, if the brand is not that important.

I have a common SR that is 70mm handlebar center to the back of the expander bolt. Lower level, but you could use it for fitting then get a better one.

If anyone is in need of a black seatpost, I have a couple of black Kalloys I can let go of.

Well then, we have a 70 stem available. If you already have a bike that you like the fit, take some measurements. Figure out the actual size of the IM and then we(the thread) can help you get the IM fit right.

If that picture above shows the saddle height for you, you are in the ball park for your frame size. Wait until you swap stems. Bike fit can drive you crazy. My 60cm came to me virtually new with a 90 cm stem. For sure, the previous owner of yours put that long stem on there.

I measured Center bb to the edge of the seat post and got 60cm should I have measured at the lug instead?
