Agreed! It's also good with some cinnamon and nutmeg, or as a nice addition to stews, or as a filling for enchiladas.

Cutting it in half is the best part, since it gives me an excuse to use my super-huge knife.

There is lots of great squash at the Farmer's Market as well right now. And, it's ridiculously cheap.

My daughter loves it when I make butternut squash soup.

I might be brown but I don't know how to make curry.

Also, curry is not a descriptive word at all. A billion different things could be curry.

Do you bake it?
fill baking pan 1/2" deep with water.
cut squash in half, scoop out seeds and stringy crap.
place cut side down in pan, bake @ 350F for 30 minutes
flip, cover with nutmeg/cinnamon, fill "pocket" with 1tsp of maple syrup
continue baking for 25-30 minutes, or until tender.

Danke.

I'm new to a lot of this stuff and I don't normally care what I eat for veggies because I just stir fry them and call it a day as they go into my belly. I'd like to learn more so thanks!

I'm white & live in the middle of cowboy country - cut me some slack.

And yes - I realize there are different kinds etc - but I was trying to get my point across quickly so I could go back to work.

It was really good. Same place I've been going for a few months for their "burgers and beer" special. They've had pics of their breakfast burritos out and I've wanted to get one for a while but never get out there early enough. Today I got done just in time to get over there. I just had to sub out the beans because they strongly recommended not having anything that could cause gas.

Edit: the treat was a rice krispy treat. I just wanted something quick and easy right when I woke up because I was starving.

Here is the burger (and beer in the background) from the same place a while ago. It's really not a "burger" I guess since it's a veggie (black bean) patty and on sourdough bread instead of a bun, but it's really good and it's a great deal.

Not eating.
Not at all.
Okay, a little.
But only healthy stuff.
Okay, mostly healthy stuff.
Umm, a little chocolate.
And some chips.
okay, fine, you got me. I've been stuffing my face all day with leftover Halloween candy a co-worker brought in yesterday.

Can you tell I'm more track sprinter than climber?

sorry. [/randompost]
