Had a great birthday ride today on my Motobecane Grand Sprint. 31 miles and 750+ feet of climbing on a 40-52, 14-24 combo. I don't usually climb on this bike, but temps and humidity are both low today and all went smoothly. It felt great! Here's a shot from the state park I visited.

Tested out the Bianchi on the "cobbles": Redmond Red Brick Road:
Almost got creamed by a bus on the way home; had he been successful, this would've been the last pic of me alive:
Also, guess what? I an another cyclist were pulled over on the Sammamish River Trial by a couple of SPD bike officers and informed politely that helmets are now mandatory on the Burke Gilman and Sammamish River bike trails, for any user of anything with wheels. $130 fine for non-compliance. They are giving warnings until the end of the month. Guess I'd better dust off the old Pneumo.
A little disappointed, actually. We apparently don't have enough officers in this area to deal with property crimes (which are WAAAAY up) and rampant illicit drug use all over the Puget Sound area, but we can send officers out on bikes every day and generate revenue (which, in this town, I guarantee will be totally wasted however they use it). Get out and fine/arrest some real scofflaws!

Hmm, all I did was ride to and from work again. Total 35 miles. Like most days.

Quick 20 miles on the Gios before heading to visit the parents.
Its in the adjusting phase right now. I can feel the difference riding my normal 55cm to this 54cm.

Mt St. Helens, wow! Great pics of what must've been a great ride.
Today was my first ride on clipless. Well, it was a day of many firsts.
First clipless ride.
First time stung by a bee while riding (4 miles in right through my shorts).
First clipless fall facing up hill at a stop light. I had to laugh. I'm sure the motorists did too.
Ended up catching the first half of my daughter's soccer game while out.

Ive got a Custom Bruce Gordon road bike. It wasn't built for me, but it fits me perfectly. It was built in the late 60's. I bought it in the late 70's and rode it till about 2005. I plan on taking it on a coast to coast tour next year, and am really looking forward to it.

Took a nice sunny day ride to Pond Lake about 20 miles round trip. Passed by my brother on the way back and he took a couple of pics.

The last two digits of the serial number will tell you the year it was built. I'm sure many of us would love to see a few photos no matter what year it was built.

I stand corrected
A late '60s Bruce Gordon would be a rare bike indeed since Bruce didn't start building until 1974 and didn't build under his own name until '76!

The frame was built for Linda Guy in 1981. She was a neighbor and friend of Bruce's when he lived in Eugene Oregon. I first saw it in a bike shop in Fort Worth, Texas, The shop was run by the great wheel builder Joe Young. (need great wheels, go to joeyoungwheels.com). You'll be glad you did.
The bike was on consignment there. It fit me perfectly, and became my only road bike till about 2005, or so. I painted bikes for about a decade during the time I owned it, and I added a blue fade and a blue pearl clear coat to make it look a little less feminine.
Enjoy
I've attached some photos of the bike.
