Bad things are built when bored.
Wife was babysitting a two year old last night so I hid in the garage. With nothing really to do, i grabbed a junk frame and wanted to see if I could take parts laying around and build it. I admit this should've never been built, but it was fun and killed some time. It actually rides nice.

Bikes: No-name LH drive track. Also ride an Exxon Graftek, a Masi, a Trek R200 or a RR Boneshaker for fun!

I'm not seeing the bad-ness here, it's another bike with resale value expertly saved from the scrap metal bin.
However the rear brake cable routing is interesting, yet nearly unavoidable given the adjuster-to-caliper attachment.
If she'd baby-sat another hour you'd have had time to drill that adjuster out, fix it, and get even more $ for it!

That's because the bad things cannot be seen. I welded a shifter boss on for the downtube shifters, and the brake levers were missing the binders so they are epoxied forever into the bars. That's just a few things.

I know some people love flat bars (I can't abide them) but the thing that makes me cringe is that rear brake cable

Lord forgive me, for I have committed far worse sins myself. I try not to post them online, though.

Almost the definition of a "ride to the pub" parts bike -- i like it . It looks nice enough you might have to lock it though still
I dont ride to many pubs, but a similar rig would be nice for me to ride to the YMCA -- i felt odd once locking a Litespeed up in the bike rack there once amongst the aging mountain bikes, commuters and kids bikes

I still can't believe the junk people used to wheel in through the front door.
The looks on their faces was priceless when I would tell them how much it was to fix "issues."
Like everything should cost a buck....

I drove the owner nutso.
He said I was giving away the store.
What can I say?
Let's remember, a $1 was a fair amount of money in 1972.
The bike boom bikes were tough though, as so many people didn't want to pay for maintenance.

It would have been bad with an Alenax drivetrain. This is just an underappreciated sort of cool.

Hey @sloar, your bike actually looks pretty good. Definitely more refined than many of the things I've thrown together. Ain't nothing wrong with a frankenbuild here and there, either!
In spirit of the thread title, I whipped this one up a little while ago out of my bin of spare parts
J-turn: No Kash For Klunkers
Feel free to check it out if interested.
It rides well, as in there's nothing wrong with it. It's tough and it takes care of theft deterrence. Not my vehicle of choice, though. I'll probably be letting friends borrow it whenever. It'll be kicking around for a while.
