47. I have only done that on long descents with big sweeping turns. I'd be terrified to do that on anything to narrow and winding.

Heh, another one of these threads.
43 mph for me. I could probably go faster if I got an 11t small cog, I always found myself spinning like crazy in the 12. Now I'm using a 13-26, so recently I've only hit the high 30s.

More interesting to me is how fast have you gone on the flats? Me - 37 mph in the draft of a local stud, maybe 33 without drafting.
Downhill. I hit 58 mph dropping down to the Spokane river -- too fast for me...bike gets a little TOO lively and I don't quite have the nerve to lean like I need to in the bends.

I just wonder how many times someone's actually increased their "Said" speed just a few tenths just to beat out the previous poster's speed.

At what point does a person's personal record become so inflated that it deserves 100 rolleyes.
Have we not grown up yet? Do we still need to puff our chest and flail around like Silver-back Apes? Not one person here hasn’t dropped a Fred or Knave or sped down a road at break-neck speeds or climbed 40% grades in a 53/11 or rode twenty centuries in a row or built their umpteenth bike with a sub 15 pound weight or whatever it is you do to make you better than the next guy you don’t know more than an snappy avatar and infantile signature.
Just kidding
Keep 'em coming.
Mine is 48.sumthin' right now. But wait a while and it will be well over 50

I breached 90 km/h on my Mongoose ATB (with Continental Town and Country tires) going down the reverse slope of the Southside Hills in St. John's. It was a nasty switch back climb up but the ride down toward Blackhead and Cape Spear was an absolute gas. In the flats, the fastest I have gone was about 55 km/h on my Bianchi trying to dodge a pit bull.
