Road Cycling “It is by riding a bicycle that you learn the contours of a country best, since you have to sweat up the hills and coast down them. Thus you remember them as they actually are, while in a motor car only a high hill impresses you, and you have no such accurate remembrance of country you have driven through as you gain by riding a bicycle.” -- Ernest Hemingway

Today’s adventure in weekend commuting reminded me how much I dislike bike lanes, paths, MUPs, etc, but it was fun, anyway.

The groupo was delivered yesterday, minus the cassette. The seller messaged me today, he found it. Good thing too but man they are pricey!

This is going to be my first compact crank bike. I hope I like it. Because the price of a new standard crank in 175mm makes me light headed.

Yes, I could have had it fixed. But, I would never been able to trust it after what it's been through.

Well hopefully it'll help me climb with my regular people. My top end is still pretty good for an old fat man. But climbing .....not so much.

"Motherless Brooklyn" is not to be missed. A sure contender for best of everything at the Oscars. Superb.
