FS: Pletscher: Model RS, Rear Spring Loaded Rack in Black
Pletscher makes a solid rack and this "Modell RS" is no exception. Like most Pletscher's, it is spring loaded with a foldable tombstone and comes with some mounting hardware and a red reflector, if that's your thing. But, what makes this model special is that this rack is black. I cannot find any examples of black Pletscher's online which made me think this was done by a previous owner but I am leaning toward this one being factory sprayed. I say that because the rear stays are black anodized and riveted on, with the rivets being chrome. Homemade jobs don't typically go to that extent. Plus, the paint is done well and not flaking or showing any signs of coming off other than areas with actual scuffs, which there aren't many. The roughest spot is on the back corner, which I did my best to highlight below.
Maybe this is factory done, maybe not. If anyone can confirm this, please chime in.
The rack is 15” long with a 5” wide platform
120mm attachment width and 15" long so it should fit 120 to 130mm rear drop out widths just fine.
Overall, this rack is in excellent vintage condition with everything in good, working condition, coming with most hardware, cleaned and waiting for your build.
