My new Wahoo computer stopped working on the second ride. Screen is borked, won't display anything. Hope they're good about honoring warranties.

That stinks. Would be interested to see how they handle it. Let us know how it works out.

Yeah I'm handling it through the customer support email now, so we'll see.

Just to update -- after explaining the situation, I sent the defective unit back to Wahoo (they paid for shipping), and they're sending me a replacement now. Still kind of annoyed that I got a dud but it happens from time to time I guess. Getting it replaced has been easy, so no complaints there.

Unfortunately defects are sometimes a result of the manufacturing process. Impossible to get to 0 defects, so it comes down to how they are handled. Glad they gave you a new one, been super happy with Wahoo so far!

I've heard a lot of similar stories about Wahoo. They have bad QC but great customer service it seems.

Today I finally put this back together

And took it out just before dark for its first ride. Just meant to check the seat height etc...
I ended up doing 3 miles of canal banks.

A friend of mine gave me this cool pepper plant for my birthday a while back and I finally took some of the peppers and am starting some hot sauce.
The batch has a 4 cloves of garlic, 1 green onion, 8 of these little red (not super spicy) peppers, 2 dried Bhut Jolokia peppers, a few sprinkles of gochujaru flakes (for color mainly) 3 sichuan peppercorns, salt, rice wine vinegar and a splash of white whiskey. My plan is to let it sit for a while and then blend and maybe cook, I usually cook my hot sauces but I might try it uncooked this time depending on how it tastes.

Today I, well, a few days ago really, ordered a new freewheel because the one I had decided it wanted to be free....in both directions.
Needless to say it made pedaling an issue.

Video taken from gas station parking lot 7 miles into my ride

Today I got stung by something on my left knee while riding. I didn’t manage to see what it was. About 3 miles left on a 3 hour ride.

Luckily I don’t really have much of a reaction but it did hurt! 😕 Funny, it’s been years since I recall that happening.

Found an old California 1030 turntable while out for a ride.
getting home was interesting, but I did it.
it turns and has a needle. The amp and speakers work through an Aux input to play music out of my iTunes library.
Hank Mobley and Ray Brown are coming through Smooth!

Today I rode and didn’t get stung! Glorious fall weather with strong winds out of the west. A wild ride on SS with some hard pushes into the wind and flying along with a tailwind! 👍

Today I got out and rode laps around my neighborhood in the dark with battery lights burning on a near-closed course. I’ve been doing a lot of 8-10 mile rides like that between 5:15 and 6:00 a.m. so that i can go do real rides on the weekends, or maybe it’s to continue getting rid of the spare tire around my midsection - but the real truth is I’m bein’ all zen and riding my bike so that I can ride my bike.

Today I picked up a new Aventon Cordoba single-speed. Upgraded the drops to a nice set of FSA Vision bullhorns, need to swap out the terrible pedals it came with still.

That’s my bike. I took it down. I had a bunch of offers, but I couldn’t bring myself to sell it. I just know I’ll never get another one again.
