Oh that's GORGEOUS!!! I almost bought one of those instead of my Origin 8-wasn't that I though one was better than the other (spec was a bit better on the Motobecane, actually),it came down to steel vs aluminum and supporting my LBS (who's also been a friend fo r15+ years ). NICE ride,Brother!

Fantom CX Commute
This week I started commuting on this bike. I have been making adjustment every ride.
Compared to my road bike this bike is an SUV. Reminds of Tonka truck. I cut through
grass from pavement and very stable in the ride. I have to build my strength with the
bike so I'll be able to toss it around in fall cross races.

great but REAL easy to fall off the back of. still getting used to it for remounts.
it's the gel triathalon version so it's got some padding.
i rode the bike just as it stands in that photo for about 55 miles that day keeping up with my friends on road bikes.

Becomes
Soon to have drop bars, Avid BB7's and Tektro SS lever while I tinker fitting hydraulic brakes into campy 10sp bodies
I'm fortunate enough to work in a bike shop. Build cost so far $750, that's including buying the bike in its original configuration.. It will also get a nicer lighter seat soon enough, possibly carbon cranks, possibly fulcrum red metal whatever the top model is in 29er.
Single speed 45x18. 700x35c tyres.

Thought I might show my 27 year old Aussie built Ricardo. I much prefer 35c to road tires thanks to large clearances and very comfy offroad.
I totally rebuilt it myself.

I finally bought a Tricross, a bike I've been looking at forever. I hesitated because a) they were too expensive, and b) I was concerned it would be too small, even in the 61cm size. A good ebay deal on an Expert frameset took care of concern a), but my aching back after today's ride tells me concern b) has some validity.
I may need to try a longer stem and see what that does.
