Older Rides
Who still rides an older bike ( ie.. Rim Brakes, Mechanical Shifting ) and does not have any desire to buy new? I will start. 2013 Litespeed M1. This is my primary rider.

2013 is just a baby! My LeMond Reno is 2006 and my GT mtn.bike is 1998, Wife's Reno also 2006 and her Kona Lava Dome mtb also 1998. All are still in excellent shape. I'm not, but at 73, very happy to be in the shape I'm in!

The Ritchey is a 2001 Had ultegra 5800, put 105 R7000 last year.

Have not updated that list. But this is the emonda and the other Madone.
I don’t ride exclusively old bikes, but I do enjoy them. Don’t really have a preference over disc/rim or electronic over mechanical. Both have ups/downs.

My newest bike is my avatar bike. 2011. Ti but inspired by the bikes they raced before WW1. A road bike with flip-flop fix gear and good brakes. Next newest is another ti bike, same builder, patterned after the 1980s Japanese sport bikes, many of which were excellent, practical bikes and three years older.
And actual C & V - 2 1983 bikes, a 4-something Trek (my workhorse fix gear) and a Pro Miyata, the 1979 Peter Mooney and a 1973 Raleigh Competition.
No new bikes in my plans - except the first ti has speed wobble issues. Too bad because the bike is exactly what I want. Love all but 5 minutes of my favorite rides. Maybe I'll get another just like it but tweaked to stay calm downhill. Going to try cheap fixes first.

My main ride is a 2000 LS Vortex. I bought the frameset used in 2003 (eBay), built it up with 10sp Chorus, and have put ~100k miles on it since. It was my dream bike when I bought it, and remains so to this day. Depending on what Campag does in terms of releasing a more reasonably priced wireless groupset (and hopefully with a rim brake option), I'll either stick with 10sp for now or snag a 12sp Chorus mechanical/rim brake groupset while they're still available. 10sp is great, though - but as I age I like the option of extending the lower gearing while maintaining close ratios at the top end - an 11-29 12sp cassette with a 48/32 crank sounds almost perfect.

I still ride both of these. The Merlin is from the 1990’s, and the Willier is 2012.
I have no desire to replace the Willier. In part, because it does not have disc brakes, it only weighs 13 lbs. I’ve ridden both bikes in the Alps, the Pyramees, the Dolomites, the Rockies, and the smaller but steep Appalachian Mountains, with zero braking problems.
they both now have SRAM electric shifting. The original mechanical groups wore out, and I replaced with electric, which is nice but not really that big of difference.
Given the weight of new disc brake bikes, it will likely still be some time before I replace the Willier.

This is the newest (and most recent) an 05 or 06 Allez Comp. These may be the last zoot steel bike from Specialized. I fixed it up a bit so it's now 18.4lbs as shown in the pic. And I can tell you straight and true that this geezer is loving it
