Blue Ridge Parkway

On Saturday, June 6, 8 of us drive to Cherokee, North Carolina, the southernmost point on the Blue Ridge Parkway. If all goes well, on Saturday, June 13 we will ride into Front Royal, Virginia--the northernmost point. In between there are about 630 miles of cycling, and a LOT of climbing.

Will make it a point to wear the 50+ jersey on Monday, when we ride up Mt Mitchell. Looking forward to the trip-- will post details as they come up, and will provide a ride report.

The fixie stays home for this one...

Cool, have a great ride! Try to get an early start each day to miss the afternoon t-storms. We're having some good ones most days.

Enjoy!! Will you be supported?

I've done a lot of the BRP but not all the same week.

Have fun! I'm planning two days on the BRP this weekend myself. On Saturday I'll do 100 or some from Rockfish Gap, down into Buena Vista for lunch, and then back. I'll stay over in Waynesboro Saturday night, and then drive to Buena Vista to do another out and back down to Peaks of Otter or so (another 80 miles.)

Looks like good weather too. Can't wait!

A gentleman from our club is currently in that area riding a portion of the BRP. He had done another part of it some years back. He is pulling a trailer and camping as he goes. He also turns 71 yrs. old this year I think. Inspiring to me.
