Records at the Time Trials Last night!!

We had a tremendous turnout at the Time Trials at the Speedway last night. In fact, we used every timing chip we had. Hopefully that will equate to more dollars for the Charities we support!

While most riders preregister to save dollars and insure they have a starting time, we usually have 30-40 register on-site. Last night we had a 113 riders to register on-site........breaking our record by a whopping 50%. We were very close to having 400 riders total. I was also amazed at the number of riders that traveled several hours-a lot more than normal.

Needless to say there were riders of all abilities in attendance.......and not to mention some very, very nice TT bikes!!

The unexpected large turnout created a few logistics issues for us.......but hopefully we worked through most of them successfully. I suspect a few folks might have missed a start time due to the large turnout as there wasn't much room for error at this event.

The times ranged from 19+ mins (30.4 mph) to 32 mins (18 mph).

I'm still tweaking my TT bike plus these hilly 100 milers the past several weekends have not done my TT times any good at all. I was still able to shave 30 seconds off my time from the last event-but was over a minute slower than my PR.

For the first time since I've done the TT's I'm in the top 3 in my age group in total points for the year-usually I'm 4th or 5th. My strategy has been to just hang around long enough to everyone else quits riding!! I guess it's starting to work.......

Our next event is July 15. Come out and join us if you are on the East Coast!

That sound like a great event. BTW, 30 mph average for 19 minutes takes a lot of power. I have trouble holding a wheel at 30 mph and a 30 mph pull, even for a few seconds, is hard for me. I am supposed to do a TT on Sunday but I have a cold and cough. I do not think I will be able to do it.
